What Is Registered Massage Therapy?
Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) in Ontario is a regulated health profession. Our therapists are trained to assess and treat conditions affecting the muscles, connective tissues, tendons, and ligaments using hands-on techniques like deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.
Whether you're dealing with a specific injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply carrying too much tension from daily life, massage therapy addresses both the symptoms and the underlying cause — supporting your body's natural recovery.
Do You Struggle with Muscle Tension, Stress, or Pain?
You stretch, you rest, you try to push through, but the tightness in your shoulders, the ache in your lower back, or the tension headaches just keep coming back. Over time, chronic muscle tension doesn't just hurt. It drains your energy, disrupts your sleep, and makes you less present at work and at home.
Many people try to manage on their own, or book a relaxation massage that feels great in the moment but doesn't address what's actually going on underneath. If you've been frustrated by short-term relief that doesn't stick, the difference is usually in how the treatment is approached.
At Enhanced Wellness Studio, massage therapy in Waterloo starts with a conversation. We want to understand your history, your goals, and what you've already tried, because that's what makes treatment effective, not just comfortable.
Meet Our Waterloo Registered Massage Therapists
Massage therapy at Enhanced Wellness Studio is provided by three Registered Massage Therapists, each with distinct specialties and extensive clinical experience.
Angela Gibson, RMT has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2001. Her experience spans pregnancy massage, Esalen deep tissue, Thai massage, and palliative care. She is the in-house massage therapist for Perimeter Institute in Waterloo and brings over two decades of clinical skill to every session.
Charles Gollob, RMT has been practising since 1999, developing a broad toolkit of techniques to address musculoskeletal conditions. Charles focuses on the minimum effective dose of treatment and self-care — identifying modifications and exercises that are realistic to implement and create lasting change. He believes strongly in active patient participation as a driver of recovery.
Amy Reitzel, RMT, CAc, RRPr brings nearly two decades of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist, with additional specialized training in reflexology, cupping therapy, and muscular acupuncture. Her approach is results-driven and customized, focusing on pain relief, stress reduction, and restoring balance and function to the body.
All three practitioners work collaboratively with the broader Enhanced Wellness Studio team — including our chiropractor, physiotherapist, and counsellors — when your care calls for a multi-disciplinary approach.
